A heartfelt good-bye to Vaclav (Vasek) Cermak.
After 7 extremely busy and fruitful years, Vaclav Cermak, C4C’s ROBIN HOOD program manager, is leaving C4C to pursue a career as a translator. He will be missed!
Many of our friends and sponsors have come to know Vaclav’s friendly voice when contacting C4C over our office switchboard. In more ways than one, Vaclav was C4C’s face and front man for many years, tirelessly answering all concerns Czech.
“It’s been a wonderful time at C4C and during these 7 years I truly learned a lot and worked with a bunch of amazingly dedicated people”, reflects Vaclav. “But now it’s time for a change for me to pursue my ambitions in starting a translating business.”
Vaclav is a professional translator, looking back on over 10 years of experience in this field. As a matter of fact, he first got his start with C4C in this capacity and was responsible for all Czech translations of C4C’s extensive web presence. Vasek will continue to provide web translations for C4C in the future, ensuring that the literary quality of translations of C4C content, which we all have become used to, will continue.
“We all will miss Vasek tremendously, his dedication, as well as the sacrifices he made for C4C’s cause and for our constituency – children less fortunate than our own”, remarks Manfred Franke, C4C’s founder and chairman. “He certainly left his mark on C4C and he succeeded to put the bar quite high for his successor.”
Vasek’s responsibilities will be taken over jointly by Alena Zdvidhalova and Jana Snoblova, both seasoned old timers on the C4C team, who will both switch from part time into full time mode. “It’s a little sad to lose a good colleague like Vas, but I wish him all the best for the future”, says Alena. “He is a great translator and I hope his new business will really take off”, she continued.
And the whole C4C team certainly joins in, wishing Vasek well deserved successas he launches out and establishes his new business.
