48 children from six orphanages in the greater Prague area compete for first place at the popular TEPFAKTOR indoor adventure-game facility.

When it comes to action packed adventure games, the TEPFAKTOR facility, just 40 km outside of Prague, seems the perfect choice for all those seeking adrenaline rushes and Goosebumps. (Click here if you haven’t heard about them) Teams of up to five people have to successfully pass through 26 chambers to be able to open the treasure chest at the end. Each room is electronically controlled and poses an intellectual or physical challenge or puzzle to be completed. Such cutting edge fun is usually unattainable for kids residing in orphanages and children’s homes – if it wasn’t for C4C’s Katka Wojasova, who, besides her many other responsibilities as a project manager for C4C, makes it a point to organize exciting social events such as these on a regular basis for children with a social (and financial) handicap.

“Watching the kids enjoying themselves so much really makes it worth the effort to put it all together and manage it”, says Katka, who leads the educational Springboard to Life initiative for C4C.

With the generous support of the management team and owner Tomas Chroust, the TEPFAKTOR opens their doors on a regular (and complementary) basis to C4C and their constituency: children residing in orphanages and children’s homes. As the proverbial cherry on the cake the action is usually also supported by various Czech or international celebrities. This time it was funny man, actor and movie director Jakub Kohak who kept the kids in stitches with his jokes and antics, together with side kick Captain Sparrow – played with gusto by no other than TEPFAKTOR’s owner, Tomas Chroust.

“We worked hard at making this an unforgettable time for these special children”, comments Tomas after coaching the different teams through the intricate games and attractions. “I think we were quite successful, judging by all the happy faces around”, he smiles.

Along for the fun and offering himself as a team leader was popular musician Itcho Pcelar, a Slovak Superstar runner up with his band “Jamestown”. His TepFaktor team whose came in second and won the silver medal.

To raise awareness of the plight of children growing up without the love and support of parents and which are yearning to successfully integrate into society at large, Czech TV station CT-D recorded the extravaganza, which was aired the following day for a nation-wide audience. Watch the segment here (forward to 1.58 minutes).

And since an action packed day such as this usually coincides with a healthy appetite, C4C’s founder and chairman, Manfred Franke, himself and old style BBQ aficionado, was along for the fun and offered himself as a cook and master griller. At times manning two large grills he and Rafal Wojas, C4C’s Dr. Clown project manager, cranked out massive amounts of sausages for the hungry kiddos.

“I wouldn’t have missed this for the world – it’s so exciting watching the kids having fun and work up a sweat”, smiles Manfred – who worked up quite a sweat himself handling the grill on this particular hot and sunny day.

In closing, a big thank you goes to all who helped make this day so special for the children: The TEPFAKTOR team, Jakub Kohak, Itcho Pcelar, Elena Sulcova, Connie Zoerner and the Rotary Club Prague Bohemia and many others!

You helped to make this an unforgettable event for all those attending. Thank you so very much for sacrificing your time, resources and talents!
