On Thursday, March 20, 2025, the Kladno Castle Gallery hosted the grand opening of the prestigious Rub & Líc art exhibition. This remarkable project combines art with charity, showcasing the works of Croatian-Czech painter and sculptor Antun Snovak and visual artist Roman Řehák, both of whom donated one painting each to the silent auction of the event – for the benefit of C4C!.
The vernissage attracted around 200 guests, not only from Kladno and Prague but also from abroad. The event’s lively atmosphere was masterfully hosted by Miloš Pokorný, and the program featured prominent figures from the cultural scene, including composer Varhan Orchestrovič Bauer, singer František Nedvěd Jr., and Kladno musician Jary Tauber. Among the guests were numerous well-known personalities such as Heidi Janků, Stanislav Hložek, Jakub Smolík, Olga Menzelová and others.
Besides art, the evening was filled with joy and laughter, thanks to the presence of the Dr. Klaun team, which has been dedicated for over 25 years to helping hospitalized children and seniors via their tried and proven “Laughter Therapy.” The program’s clowns brought smiles and good cheer to all attendees.
A significant part of the exhibition is a silent auction of two remarkable artworks, with all proceeds going to support the Dr. Klaun program. The patrons of these pieces are singer Lucie Bílá, who supports the painting Family by Roman Řehák, and former hockey player Lubomír “Čužák” Rys, who has taken patronage over Antun Snovak’s artwork Krajina poupat. Visitors have until May 25 to place a bid or use the displayed QR code to contribute financially to this noble cause.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in organizing and supporting this exhibition.
*“Laughter is more than just a moment of joy—it is a spark of hope, a breath of relief, and sometimes the best medicine of all. We are deeply grateful to Mr. Tomáš Mužík and the entire Rub & Líc exhibition for choosing to support Dr. Klaun. Thanks to this generosity, our hospital clowns can continue bringing smiles to children and seniors who need them most. *Art touches the soul, and laughter heals the heart—together, they create something truly extraordinary.”
— J. Rafal Wojas, Director of C4C’s Dr. Klaun Program
Special thanks go to Lucie Bílá and Lubomír Rys for their patronage, as well as to Tomáš Mužík, who initiated the entire project and said:
“I wanted this exhibition to be more than just a celebration of art. I wanted it to bring joy where it’s needed most—just like Dr. Klaun does every day.”
We also extend our sincere thanks to all visitors whose participation and support help spread the idea that laughter is a vital part of healing.
The exhibition runs until May 25, 2025, and we warmly invite everyone who wishes to not only admire exceptional art but also contribute to a good cause.
