As part of the 3rd summer expedition organized under the auspices of Chance 4 Children (C4C) and the DiscoverEU program (Erasmus+), a group of young people set off on an eight-day train adventure across Europe. The goal of the trip was not only to discover new places, but above all to foster independence, teamwork, and adaptability in unfamiliar environments.
A Route Full of Experiences and Culture The journey by rail took the participants through three European countries:
- Graz (Austria): The first stop was dedicated to the historic city center, the iconic Uhrturm clock tower, the rock-carved Dom im Berg, and the modern architecture of the floating island, Murinsel. The adrenaline highlight was sliding down Schlossberg via the giant underground tube slide.
- Lake Bled (Slovenia): In the heart of the Julian Alps, the group visited the thousand-year-old Bled Castle and swam out to the iconic island featuring the Church of the Assumption of Mary.
- Pula (Croatia): The main destination by the Adriatic Sea offered a blend of relaxation and history. Participants explored the monumental Roman amphitheater Pula Arena, the Triumphal Arch, and the hidden corners of the town. Evenings were spent enjoying sports, snorkeling, and live concerts right on the beach.
More Than Just Travel The DiscoverEU project organized by C4C opens doors to the world for young people. It teaches them to plan routes, handle unexpected situations, respect different cultures, and take responsibility for themselves. The experiences and memories from this 3rd expedition will stay with the participants for a long time to come.
