It’s always very much appreciated and encouraging when celebrities and stars offer their support and endorsement of our programs for needy and disadvantaged children in this country. Being by nature a charity that is not driven or powered by a single celebrity, it is gratifying to know that, nevertheless, our work is appreciated and recognized amongst those folks making headlines and waves.
After successfully rallying a roster of superstars and celebrities, headed on by Lucka Bila, Petr Čech and Kateřina Neumannová, etc., behind our 2008 Charity Calendar, we’re happy to announce another Chance 4 Children (C4C)endorsement from a “Superstar” (of the popular TV NOVA program by the same name): Zbyněk Drda! The popular young singer with the velvet voice has long shown an interest in Chance 4 Children’s work and already actively participated in our Springboard to Life initiative by making himself available as a team leader and mentor in last year’s Popular Brno Bowling Cup for orphans. “Having had a fairly stable childhood, being raised by caring parents, I feel it is important to lend a helping hand and reach out to children less fortunate then myself”, says the successful young singer, who won the Superstar title and became a national icon at only 20! “I think it’s important to impress upon the children C4C helps, that, given a fair chance and a little encouragement, anyone can make it”, he adds.
Zbyněk Drda is determined to continue to be available, whenever his busy schedule allows it, to work hand in hand with C4C to make the playing field a little more level for C4C’s constituency: young children with a physical or social handicap. We think it is admirable for someone as young as Zbyněk to be already keenly aware of his personal social responsibility as a star and role model. We wish him only the very best for his future, as he profiles himself as a singer to be reckoned with in the years to come and we are looking forward to continued fruitful cooperation with him!
