I like the part of the year when the days shorten and dark falls early and dawn comes later. It wasn’t always like that, but since I have my own household and family, I started to look forward to this period. I love the light of candles and as I wake up early, I can enjoy them in autumn and during the winter twice a day – in the morning and in the early evening.
Therefore, I was excited when the S.C. Johnson company offered C4C a special donation for orphanages and homes for elderly. And not just any gift – scented candles! Given the approaching Advent, the timing couldn’t have been better – who wouldn’t want to spend time in a room scented with apples and cinnamon, lemon and ginger or deep forest scents? 😊
So we contacted children’s homes and homes for the elderly with whom we cooperate, and already in fourteen of them all over the Czech Republic and even in Slovakia, candles evoke a Christmas atmosphere.
“Hello, we are already enjoying the candles,” one of the educators, Mrs. Vršecká, wrote to me the very same day we brought the candles to the children’s home in Unhošť.
Many more institutions enjoyed them in a similar way, for example, children and aunties in the children’s home in Valašské Meziříčí, in Dubá Deštná, Česká Lípa, or in the Slovak Martin 😊
And more and more are being added. Some of them did not have the capacity to pick the candles up in the time for Christmas, so they will wait in our storage until the New Year. The joy that comes by lightening them up, will not diminish in any way.
