The restrictions are loosening up, Spring turned to Summer, and there is truly much to be thankful for and good reason to wear a smile upon your face…
During the visits to Thomayer Hospital and Královské Vinohrady Hospital, our clowns had two reasons to be encouraged: firstly, they were finally able to visit the children directly in the rooms of the children’s ward, and secondly, during both visits they were accompanied by a special guest – the Czech Republic´s very own funny man – Jakub Kohák! He wanted to see with his own eyes what joy the clowns are giving to the hospitalized children. And there was a lot to see. And actually not only to see – Jakub joined our clowns as a full member of the team!
“Kuba was being recognised by children as well as by parents, he got fully involved and by the middle of the visit he had really become one of us clowns,” comments a delighted Rafal Wojas, C4C’s “Head of Clowns”.
“He also handed over books Fairy Tales to Doodle by to the children and gave each child an autographed photo of himself. He was super and very personal to all the little patients, as well as to the parents and medical staff,” Rafal continues.
The head nurse of Královské Vinohrady Hospital commented on our visit: “You all got us completely out of our chairs and engaged. Mr Kohak is fantastic in improvisations. It was a great surprise for the children and a wonderful experience they will never forget.”
In short, the visit was a boost and a joy for the little paediatric patients, their parents, the medical staff, and Jakub in particular. And do you know what nickname he chose for his clown alter ego? Sweet Daddy 😊 Who knows where we’ll head next with him?
