Two recent birthday parties net over ¼ million CZK for C4C’s programs for children in need!

Ever wondered what birthday presents to give to those who already have it all (like, let’s be honest – most of us)? Here’s the solution: Make a gift to your favorite charity instead! (May we suggest C4C…?) J

Two recent birthday parties of gung-ho and enthusiastic C4C supporters show that much can be done with an everyday occurrence like a birthday party.

“Gifting your birthday present to your favorite charity is a perfect solution”, reasons well-wisher Dagmar Zweschperova, “It takes the pain out of trying to decide what present to give to whom. My God, most of us have everything already anyway”, she adds with an expression of exasperation. “But doing it this way makes things truly meaningful – it’s a win-win solution!

All of us here at C4C wholeheartedly agree. And a big thumbs up to both, Franz Riha, who had a joint birthday/fundraising celebration with his fellow Rotary Club member Bernd Kriegeskorte in southern Germany, and Marketa Szabova who celebrated her 50th birthday as a fundraiser for C4C in the trendy Municipal House in Prague (Obecni Dum). We’re sure that the satisfactions that comes from giving, and helping children less fortunate then their own to have a chance in life, far outweighs the forfeiture of (as Dagmar pointed out, largely redundant) presents.

Thank you all, what a great idea! We think it’s definitely worth copying – and no, you don’t have to wait until your 50 or 70… J

And to give credit to whom credit is due, we’d also like to relate a special & heart-felt “Thank You” to:

–        Renowned caterers Zatisi Catering and the man at the helm, Sanjiv Suri, for providing tasty food, well-selected beverages and fantastic service at cost price, (actually, almost no price – they simply refused to make money…) This way, nobody would go hungry or thirsty during the event in the Municipal House in Prague…

–        Stanislav (Standa) Prucha, who made available his spectacular office facilities at the top of the Prague Obecni Dum, featuring a breath-taking look over the city rooftops at the Prague castle. Not to be outdone, he also contributed a certified diamond for the ensuing birthday party auction benefitting C4C.

Kudos, Sanjiv and Standa – we really appreciated your concern! Thanks a ton, Marketa, Franz and Bernd – let’s plan your next birthday – now!
