Author: Michal Jírů – As 2025 drew to a close, Chance 4 Children hosted the largest gathering to date of the Rise Up community. Nearly 60 members came together from December 11–14 at Pinia Hotel & Resort in Špindlerův Mlýn, spending several days focused on learning, sharing, and strengthening relationships.
The program featured a rich mix of workshops, discussions, mentoring, relaxation, and time in nature. Highlights included a talk on fast fashion by the organization Na mysli, an environmental workshop led by Aleš Bureš, and a presentation of the DOFE (Duke of Edinburgh) association by its ambassadors. The lecture on luminescence by Víťa Jarý was another defining moment of the event.
Particularly powerful was the discussion on transitioning out of children’s homes, led by mentor Melanie Novotná Majerová. The goal of this initiative is to create a practical handbook to help young people navigate this challenging life stage.
Rise Up hoodies, donated by T-SHIRTS 4U were an instant sensation and much appreciated by all. The hoodie logo was designed by one of the community’s young members, Dan Skala, making them even more special. Another hit were the hand-knitted four-leaf clovers, prepared by the grandmas from the Babikov association. C4C extends a big THANK YOU to both donors!
Thanks and the Look Ahead
Our sincere gratitude goes to the management and staff of the Pinia Hotel & Resort, who donated all their services, plus accommodations – an incredible and much appreciated gesture, making the event possible! They took wonderful care of us throughout our stay and helped create an unforgettable atmosphere.
“We closed the first calendar year of the Rise Up community in grand style. We’re already looking forward to the new challenges, gatherings, and stories that 2026 will bring,” agree community founders and event organizers Michal, Petra, and Jolana from Chance 4 Children.
