The DMAX C4C Charity Golf Tour 2010 generated almost 100.000 CZK for C4C’s programs for needy children!

After five successful golfing events all across the Czech Republic, the DMAX C4C Charity Golf Tour found its festive conclusion at the exclusive Konopiste Golf Course. For those not too familiar with Czech history, the golf course lends its name from the nearby, history-laden castle of the same name. It was home to Archduke Franz Ferdinand who was tragically assassinated in Sarajevo, sparking off events that eventually lead to WW1.

After the players wrapped up their game and gathered in a relaxed setting at the venue’s restaurant, the winners of the tour were announced by Rastislav Stancek, organizer of the DMAX tour. And as the top players received their well-deserved trophies and recognition for a job well done, Rastislav used the occasion to pass on a sizable check of CZK 96.000 to Manfred Franke, C4C’s founder and current chairman. The proceeds were generated through separate mini golfing games during the tournament and restaurant partners La Finstra and Arome.

“It has been my privilege and pleasure to arrange this special golf tournament for the educational initiatives of C4C, because these programs are so very meaningful and far reaching. I hope that next year’s event will help in an even bigger way”, said Ratislav as he was passing on the symbolic check.

He and C4C’s PR and fundraising manager, Alena Zdvihalova, had worked hard on realizing the tour and making it a success all around. Read more about the tour here.

“I’ve really enjoyed diving into this, for me, totally new environment of golfing. Meeting golf enthusiast and buffs gave me a totally new perspective on this wonderful sport”, smiles Aja, and continues: “A big ‘Thank You’ goes to Rastislav and all participants!”

And as the golfers dug their teeth into a luscious cake, baked especially for this occasion by orphans participating inC4C’s Springboard to Life program, everyone agreed that, besides just being fun, the tournament was a successful exercise in “Golfing with Purpose”!
