For the second year running, Chance 4 Children (C4C) teamed up with Primark to help make Christmas warmer and brighter for children living in residential care homes. The initiative, held at Primark’s Václavské náměstí and Zličín stores, once again demonstrated the powerful impact of collective goodwill—bringing together customers, employees, and a shared desire to help.

Throughout December, shoppers were invited to take part in a simple yet meaningful gesture: buy one item and donate it to a child who might otherwise have little to unwrap at Christmas. Hundreds of customers responded, donating brand-new winter clothing that provided not only warmth, but also a strong sense of care and inclusion. Primark employees played a key role as well, helping to organize the collection and actively contributing themselves.

Thanks to this joint effort, winter clothing was distributed to more than 200 children from residential care homes. Jackets, trousers, hats, gloves, and scarves—everything essential for the colder months—were provided, with the total value of donated items reaching CZK 402,000.

Ahead of Christmas, two children’s homes were invited directly to a Primark store for a special day. Children received bags full of clothing personally handed over by employees and enjoyed a rich accompanying program. They explored behind the scenes of a retail store, tried working at the checkout, played games, and even stepped into the role of fashion stylists. Some also received CZK 500 vouchers, giving them the chance to choose clothes according to their own taste.

The joy extended beyond Prague. Primark employees visited a children’s home in Unhošť, delivering around 45 bags of clothing that awaited the children under the Christmas tree. The visit was warmly reciprocated with singing, music, and a short theatrical performance prepared by the children themselves.

Seeing the children’s joy and excitement is our greatest reward,” said Rastislav Pecko, Store Manager at Václavské náměstí. Representatives of the children’s homes echoed this sentiment, highlighting not only the quality of the clothing, but the happiness it brought.

This collaboration shows that even small gestures can create lasting joy—and meaningful change.
