A Christmas to remember for children from Children’s Homes! When you were doing your Christmas shopping at Primark this season you’d be hard-pressed not to see the signs and roll-ups throughout the store, urging customers to buy one item for a child less fortunate and donate it to charity. This way almost 100 children from Children’s Homes received much needed winterclothing, like jackets, pants, hats, gloves and scarves! 132.000 CZK worth, to be exact!
Some of the children were invited to the downtown Primark store, where the staff presented them with bags full of warm winter clothing. The management also prepared surprises for them: they were invited to operate a cash register, played various games, were offered refreshments and got a behind the scenes look of a modern store and its many facets. The visit ended with a unique view of Prague from Primark’s terrace.
Needless to say, the children thoroughly enjoyed the entire day and didn’t want to leave. “It was amazing; we had such a great time,” said little Jirka enthusiastically.
Also, that afternoon around 45 bags full of clothing were delivered to the children’s home in Pyšely. The gifts were placed under the Christmas tree, creating a wonderful surprise for the children, who afterwards took part in a Christmas play and were acting, playing the flute and singing.
“It was an honor to be part of this Christmas initiative, which brought not only new clothes but also joy and unforgettable moments to children from children’s homes. Thanks to the collaboration with our customers, colleagues, and Chance 4 Children, we’ve shown what it means to join forces for a good cause,” said Rastislav Pecko, store manager of Primark on Wenceslas Square. He added:
“Our core values—Caring, Dynamic, and Together—were at the heart of this initiative. I’m proud of my team, who demonstrated immense willingness and dedication to help”!
The homes also reacted enthusiastically: “Thank you so much, Primark, for the wonderful clothes for our children. We didn’t expect the items to be of such high-quality and beautiful. You’ve brought so much joy to everyone”, proclaimed the management of the Pyšely orphanage.
All in all this Christmas action was a textbook example of how collaboration between C4C and our partners can bring children not only material support but also unforgettable moments of pure joy and happiness.
