01.12.2012International Ice Hockey celebrity Jaromir Jagr and his Kladno Knights team rally behind C4C’s Dr. Clown program in an unprecedented show of support for hospitalized children!
December the 2nd will go into Czech Ice Hockey history as “The Night of the Golden Jerseys”! Jaromir Jagr and his Kladno Knights team will, for the very first time in their history, don Golden Jerseys in this truly remarkable match with the Liberec White Tigers. The Jerseys were especially manufactured for this historic match and Jagomir himself took a hand in their design.
After the match the Golden Jerseys, never to be worn again, will be auctioned off via the Internet portal Aukro.cz and the proceeds donated in their entirety to C4C’s Dr. Clown program.
“All the proceeds of this extraordinary and unprecedented auction will benefit C4C’s Dr. Clown initiative. These folks work with truly high-quality results in the Kladno hospital and also with the Children’s Home in Ledce, which our club supports as well”, says Vit Heral, spokesman for the Knights. “After this we will never play in Golden Jerseys again!”
This action make the jerseys extremely unique and valuable for collectors and fans alike, especially so since they will not feature any kind of advertising, but the club’s logos.
“We are humbled and awestruck at the same time, that Jaromir and his world class team has thrown their full support behind our Dr. Clown initiative”, says Jaroslav Wojas, C4C co-founder and director of the Dr. Clown initiative, which is first and original hospital clown program in the Czech Republic, administering their famous “Smile Therapy” since 1999 to hospitals here.
“For the sake of the children we serve, let’s hope the prices for the Golden Jerseys will go through the roof”, adds Jaroslav with a smile.
