Kladno hosts meeting of partners and friends of Dr. Clown – since 1999 the original and first Hospital Clown program in the Czech Republic!
Fans and supporters of C4C‘s Dr. Clown initiative, which delivers serious doses of therapeutic smiles to ailing children in the Kladno hospital, recently got together to celebrate their involvement and support for the popular program!
Kladno’s trendy Shock Restaurant & Bar, itself an active supporter of the Dr. Clown project, welcomed the evening‘s many guests, including the mayor of Kladno, Ing. Dan Jiránek, professional cartoonist Romana Andělová, (creating the striking designs for Dr. Clown) and Karel Klajmond, CEO of Lindab CR, and his wife Jana.
Rafal Wojas, C4C co-founder and the inspirational force behind Dr. Clown, used the occasion to highlight recent achievements and future plans for the program: “It’s been tremendously rewarding for me to watch the Dr. Clown program grow and reach out to many more children and hospitals! The recent development of our Dr. Clown corners, coloring books, floor games and our recruitment of nurses as Dr. Clown ‘Agents’, have all been steps in the right direction to reach our goal of having a 24/7 Dr. Clown presence in all participating hospitals.”
After the formalities and announcements were over and done with and the evening commenced, the Shock restaurant, true to its name, “shocked” and surprised everyone by unveiling an unprecedentedly sumptuous buffet, provided free of charge and prepared for Dr. Clown’s guests by its renowned chefs. And if this wasn’t enough, to round things off nicely, the ensuing musical performance by the MAYDAY Duo was appreciated all around and provided the proverbial icing on the cake of a perfect evening. No MAYDAY signals of distress were heard anywhere…
And as the evening rung out, a consensus was quickly formed by all those attending, that this shouldn’t be the last time the friends of Dr. Clown got together to network and enjoy each other’s company!
