C4C Logo Races Around Hockenheimring – And Comes In Second!

20.06.2008

To those closely observing the European “DMV Tourenwagen Challenge” Championships at the Hockenheim Ring in Germany last week, a logo stood out on one of the winning cars: www.c4c.cz – which, of course, is the address to our popular website. Front runner Hans-Christian Zink, of UHC Speed Performance Racing Team, decided to give Chance 4 Children (C4C) this exposure by weaving the Chance 4 Children logo and website address many times into the design of the spectacular paint job of his car. The air-brush design earned praise from one of the journalists covering the event, who called it a “piece of art”. He ultimately finished the race respectably and well-deserved in second position.

Hans-Christian, a motor sport enthusiast and noted race car driver for many years, is actually one of the founding members of C4C and his involvement with this popular charity dates back 10 years now. He also headed up Hertz Rent-a-Car as CEO in the Czech Republic for over a decade. “Considering the fact that C4C is very dear to my heart, having been there from the start, I figured this was a good opportunity to promote the incredible job C4C is doing”, comments Hans-Christian when asked about the logos.

He is currently preparing himself for the revival of one of the most grueling and dangerous rallies in the world, La Carrera Pan Americana. Each year one hundred cars line up in southern Mexico to race nearly 2000 miles (3000 Km) north to the border of Texas. Participating for the first time, driving a specially prepared 1965 Ford Mustang with 380 horse power, he hopes to give the rally old timers what he calls: “a good run for their money”! We wish him luck.

As it turns out, C4C Founder and current chairman, Manfred Franke, already enjoyed this race as a spectator last year in Monterrey, Mexico. (See picture below) “It’s certainly a very tough and demanding race and I wish Hans-Christian the best of luck”, says Manfred about his good friend. “He’s an excellent and experienced driver, but he will have to contend with drivers who drove this race many times before.”

We’re of course happy to have Hans-Christian on our side and can’t wait for him, and our logo, to come in first place next time around in Hockenheim!
