After having recently exhibited his works in Denmark and Germany, Frederik Nilsson of Malmo’s art can also be seen in Zurich, London, Washington, New York and Chicago, amongst others – and now in Prague! His pictures will be on display at the Prague Hilton lobby from May 17th to July 1st, 2007.

The vernissage on May 17th in the Hilton lobby successfully kicked off Frederik‘s first exhibition in Prague. Explaining his art to a captive audience, Frederik outlined his unusual techniques, explaining the background of the pictures on display and fielded questions from those attending. Armin Zerunjan, general manager of the Hilton, obviously impressed by Frederik’s creativity and innovative style, commented: “The Hilton Prague is proud to be hosting your first exhibition in our city and we wish you much success and many happy returns.

Among the young and the wild Scandinavian Artists Frederik Nilsson of Malmo is the young and the quiet. Strictly committed to black and white photography, mostly with historical cameras, sometimes he adds natural coloring, such as coffee and tea. This gives his works the unique “in between feeling“ – is it photography or is it painting?

“When I have a camera on me, I see the world through lenses and this is how many of my pictures were created“, says Frederik. His motives are at times intuitive walk-by snapshots, yet other times he patiently scrutinizes perspectives until the right picture emerges. But all his art has a stunning impact on the senses and is always open to personal and very intimate interpretations.

Also attending the vernissage was Manfred Franke, C4C’s founder and chairman. He comments: “Frederik’s art is very moving and impressive. I’m sure that he can find a captive audience here in Prague, in particularly amongst the distinguished clientele of the Hilton. We also want to express our heart-felt appreciation for Frederik’s generous good will gesture, donating the proceeds of the first picture sold to Chance 4 Children’s programs.“ On a more casual note, Franke adds with a smile: “With other words, we hope his exhibition will truly rock…“

So, if you have a few minutes to spare, why not drop by the Hilton and enjoy a few moments immersing yourself in Frederik’s art? Maybe you’ll find one of his pictures speaking to you in a personal way, craving to take it along for that special corner in your living room? The exhibition is located behind the reception near the elevators.
