In April, the C4C´s Robin Team went to children’s homes again, distributing much needed apparel items, supplied by our long-standing (and wonderful) supporters – the Swedish non-profit organization HH and the folks behind the popular VANS brand.
This time, no other than C4C´s Uber-Clown, Rafal Wojas, co-founder of C4C, took over the delivery, and he was joined by “greenhorn” – Čestmír, a boyfriend of Rafal’s daughter Marie.
“Čestmír had no idea what he was getting himself into,” laughs Rafal. “He agreed to help me with the ride, but it was supposed to be his first encounter with orphanages and the children residing there.”
Off they went and drove to three children’s homes – Nové Strašecí, Ledce and Unhošť.
Here´s how things went…
“When Rafal asked me if I would help transport the clothes to the children’s homes, I did not hesitate. But I had no idea what awaited me,” Čestmír wrote to us the next day after the delivery of the aid to the children´s homes. “If you ever need help with delivery, or something else, with pleasure. I keep thinking about it… that I should actually be glad that I have somewhere to go home… I’m sorry that there are so many children who don’t. It was an experience for me that I will remember for a long time. Thanks to you, I saw the children happy and satisfied. It’s just great what you do! ”
However, Čestmír was not the only one whose words and support warmed our hearts last week. Help in the form of clothes and shoes also reached the children’s home in Nový Lánov, with which we established cooperation at the beginning of this year. Under the photo, which is an introduction to this article, the director of the home, Mr. Mgr. Karel Kraus wrote:
“This boy is not crying because her didn´t get anything – he´s crying because for the first time in his life he owns a pair of branded shoes!”
This post provoked a storm of reactions on our Facebook and raised a big wave of support. Thank you very much for that! This is our job and we put our hearts into it!
We wouldn’t change.
