Rise up Community Kicks Off the School Year in Písek!

05.10.2026

An Inspirational Day Full of Experiences and Travel Plans!

The Rise up community, organized by Chance 4 Children to long-term support young adults leaving children’s homes, recently held its first autumn meeting. Participants kicked off the new school year in the inspiring environment of the Písek Municipal Library, where a diverse program full of discoveries and new visions awaited them.

A 21st-Century Library Firsthand

Thanks to an engaging guided tour, the young people peeked behind the scenes of what a modern library looks like today. They explored every corner, including innovative classrooms, the computer lab, and the board game rental service. However, the biggest hit was the climb up to the rooftop terrace, which, in addition to a great view, also serves as a stargazing spot.

The World is Open: From DiscoverEU to the First Big Journeys

In the quiet setting of one of the classrooms, the main part of the program, focusing on personal development and travel took place. Participants gained valuable information about the DiscoverEU project within the Erasmus+ program, which opens doors to the world for young people.

The program smoothly transitioned into sharing summer experiences and planning. Enormous enthusiasm was evident especially among two members of the group who are already getting ready for an adventurous train trip to Budapest and Vienna for the upcoming autumn holidays.

Together for Firmer Foundations

The entire meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere. The event concluded with well-deserved refreshments, sharing valuable life experiences, and a team-building game that further strengthened mutual relationships within the community.

A BIG Thank You goes to the Písek Municipal Library for making available their great facilities and to all participants for the energy they put into the meeting. We look forward to more shared adventures!
